Claritin (Loratadine)

Oh Nyquil, you beautiful beautiful devil.

I always keep a bottle of Nyquil stocked in my medicine cabinet (in between the Pepto and the Claritin of course). Taking it always seems like such a good idea too. I mean, who wouldn't want 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep, ESPECIALLY when you're sick and miserable and the coughing every 30 seconds wakes you up. Also, it gives you unconscious immunity to nighttime cat antics. (I am not responsible for the facescratches you may receive.)

Of course, this green elixir of the gods does not come without a price. That price is pretty much your sanity for the entire next day. Sometimes it's totally a worthwhile trade off for a full night's sleep. Other times it's not. Like today, for me.

Today, my alarm went off 7:20 am as usual. It's really loud and annoying and usually I immediately run and hit snooze. I didn't even hear my alarm until 8:00 am. FML

Today, I was walking towards the train station on my way to work, already late. At one point, I just stopped walking. I just stood around for awhile, looking confused. I forgot where I was going. I live a block from the station. FML

Today, at work, I misplaced my pen. I looked around my desk, under papers, for a good two minutes. Then I found it in my hand. I was holding it the entire time. FML

All this, before noon. It's going to be a long day. Thanks nyquil!
